About This Journey

India’s greatest wildlife breadth in a single circuit — Bengal tigers at Ranthambore, tigers and barasingha at Kanha, one-horned rhinos at Kaziranga, and Asian elephants at Kabini. This journey moves through four national parks across three different states and three different climate zones, demonstrating the extraordinary variety of India’s wildlife heritage.

Four Parks, Four Experiences

Ranthambore’s tigers in ancient fort ruins. Kanha’s Jungle Book landscape of sal meadows and bamboo groves. Kaziranga’s elephant-back access to tall grass rhino habitat — 70 per cent of the world’s one-horned rhino population in a single park. Kabini’s reservoir boat safaris with the largest elephant herds in South India.

Accommodation Used On This Tour

The Oberoi Vanyavilas

The Oberoi Vanyavilas

The Oberoi Vanyavilas at Ranthambore is India's finest jungle resort — 25 luxury air-conditioned tents with embroidered canopies, private walled gardens and four-poster beds, set in 20 acres of landscaped grounds with an observation tower overlooking the surrounding forest.

Mahua Kothi Taj Safari

Mahua Kothi Taj Safari

The first of the Taj Safari lodges, Mahua Kothi sits in 40 acres of forest at Bandhavgarh. Its twelve kutiyas (jungle village huts) are built in traditional Central Indian style with mud walls and thatched roofs, and its naturalists are among the finest in India.

Kabini River Lodge

Kabini River Lodge

The original safari lodge of South India, Kabini River Lodge occupies the former hunting lodge of the Maharaja of Mysore on the banks of the Kabini reservoir. Run by Jungle Lodges & Resorts, its colonial bungalows, boat safaris and expert naturalists have made it a legend among Indian wildlife destinations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I guaranteed to see a tiger? +

No reputable operator can guarantee tiger sightings — these are wild animals in natural habitat. However, the parks on this itinerary have among the best sighting records in India, and multiple game drives significantly increase your chances. Even without a tiger, the wildlife and birdlife encountered on every drive make the experience richly rewarding.

When is the best season for wildlife viewing? +

October to April is the main season, with March to May offering the highest sighting probability as animals concentrate around water sources — at the cost of higher temperatures. Most parks close entirely from July to September for the monsoon.

What should I pack for safaris? +

Neutral-coloured clothing (khaki, olive, brown), a warm layer for cold dawn drives in winter, sun protection, and binoculars. Camera equipment with zoom lenses is worthwhile; most lodges can arrange charging between drives.

Can this itinerary be customised? +

Yes — extra safari days, different lodges, private vehicles and additional destinations can all be arranged. Contact us to tailor the journey to your interests.
